I have read a lot recently about taking coconut oil on a daily basis for easing symptoms of parkinson's. What is your take on this?

I am going to post for you. I have heard about this but I cannot find a lot of data on the topic.

I use it but mainly because I use a lot of oils to keep my weight up. The info I've found on it was anecdotal but the good oils sure beat empty carbs like sugar and refined flour and rice.

The theory on coconut oil is that it is largely a medium chain triglyceride (MCT). The brain can function on glucose or in times of starvation, MCT's.
If your PD is caused by poor brain use of glucose as fuel, then switching to MCT's can improve brain function. There are several cases where coconut oil has made a dramatic improvement for dementia patients, but I have not seen any published data on PWP. Coconut oil has many excellent properties and couldn't hurt using it.
