Hi everyone,

Question...is anyone out there currently using the PD medication patch? I know it was on the market and was then taken off the market. I was told it was anticipated to be back out by spring of 2012. Today I heard from someone who is currently on it. Does anyone know anything about the status of the patch?

Thanks,
Mihai

Hey Mihai!

Long time; no post. How are you?

Are you referring to the agonist Rotigotine? I was on it for a short time in 2007 and it really did nothing for my PD symptoms and worse it gave me a wide, drunken Ataxic gait. I stopped it within a month and soon there after it was pulled from the market. Has your doc suggested it as a levodopa extender? We are all different so it may be worth a try. Oh and unless they have improved things keep in mind that you must rotate patch placement daily so you need to establish 7 good spots. Some places it simply falls off.

Not sure what improvements they may have made but that is my experience with it.

Take Care!

Hi friends,

Did you all hear that yesterday (4/3) the FDA approved Neupro...the patch for PD and restless leg syndrome. According to the information I received, the bugs have been worked out. It is slated to be on the market by July. I'm going to check it out...

Just wanted you to all be aware!

Blessings,
Mihai (Michael)

I'm interested too. I'd rather have a patch than a pill.

Just started it two days ago - I'm am really wanting it to work! Nervous about the patch as I'm still very active and hope it will stay attached.

Hey everyone,

I have an appointment scheduled for September to get on a low dose of the patch (Neupro). It will be added to my existing medications...am hoping it will help even out my on/off periods. Unfortunately, I can't start it until then due to a clinical trial I'm planning to participate in regarding a new medication to address dyskinesias. I'll let you all know how it goes when it happens.

Neller...let us know how it goes over time...

Anyone else going to give it a try?

Thanks,

Mihai
