Dear Dr Okun

Has Aricept successfully been used for parkinsons disease with no major side effects
I am desperately trying to stop my freezing so that I can walk again.

Once again I want to thank you for your advice.

There are small number of patients where Aricept improves attention and helps walking in PD. In my own patients I have not been impressed, but I have heard stories of successes. The side effect profile is the same as in Alzheimer's (watch for nausea, sleepiness, and slowing heart rate among others).
