.I ran accross a article dated 2009 about a form of DBS that involves the spine and is alot less invasive and less costly.It also is reported to be more effective.Unfortunately I havn't been able any new articles.
Also electrical stimulation of the muscles does work on parkinson patients who have become invalid according to several articles
Lately I've been visting some vets who are wheelchair bound or worse.one thing is that none of them ever got DBS.
