Hi everyone, after doing some research on Freezing episodes I decided to look into purchasing a laser cane for my friend's dad. I was really surprised to see that they're running for over $250 on Amazon.  Being an engineer, I found some parts online to make the equivalent, and it works amazingly well. Better yet, you can make this little module and stick it wherever you want (cane, walker, etc.)

Parts cost less than $50, and I posted my instructions to our blog here. All it takes is a little soldering, and the laser will run on two AA batteries.

I'd really appreciate any feedback from the community so that I can make it better, and I hope this will be useful to some people.

Wow, awesome.  It actually looks like a fun project to do with my son.  Thanks!

very educational content and written well for a change. It's nice to see that some people still understand how to write a quality post.
