  1. Hello, I heard there was a new development of having DBS and not being awake for it.I wonderd if there were others here who had it. Thanks John
  2. so true.so true. Our thoughts are what we are. Ive also found great help with doing good things like visiting others worse off. My PD has advanced somewhat but very little Hope your also. best john
  3. The vote in the house is schueled for tomorrow to celebrate the anniversary of the original AHA seven years ago.On a good note many republicans are speaking out against the bill Most say there is a lot more work to be done so no one needlessly goes without care.So if you haven't called your congressman please do. john Im sure you all heard that the ACa bill was repealed. That was a good thing for many people. Now there is work to be done to improve the old bill. My feeling is healthcare is far to costly for what it should be and maybe price controls wouldnt be a good place to start. Thanks for all you did their part in this effort.

  5. Adam, The drugs should be fairly close carbidopa ingredients.I know there are different inert ingredients but I doubt they cause so much disparity.I have a outside doctor who works with drug problems and he says the problem more has to do with where they are made. Actavis brand was made either in China or India. The FDA does not have the capability to check these facilities due to budget constraints.USA reported a large surge in yesterdays paper on complaints with side effects on drugs. At least I know the Mylan brand can be relied on,so far, keep my fingers crossed.lol For others who are doing as well I wonder what they might be taking also.
  6. Congress is set to vote next week on the replacement healthcare law. This law if enacted will not help anyone of us.Insurance rates will climb if you afford having insurance. The only beneficiaries will be insurance and pharmaceutical companies who will not have to pay into the old plan. All the 14 million medicad will lose their care in one year. All it takes is a call or letter to your congressperson to let them know how you feel about the sellout. have a pleasant weekend john
  7. hI GARDNER Mine are more in the arms and shoulder shrugs.Well for the past three weeks they have settled down to seldom occurrences. Im still hoping the change in prescription did the trick.
  8. I found these entries.
  9. Hello I ve been struggling with myoclonic jerks now for over two years.Im taking a total of about 600mg c/l daily .About three weeks ago I started a new prescription (different manufacturer )The old script was made by Activis(imprint R539) the new Mylan pharmucetuals(Imprint CL2).It took over a week but my myoclonus has gotten alot better and I also have less dystonia which often came with the jerks.others have mentioned other adverse reactions besides involuntary movements) Any input welcome. best john
  10. Hi Mark A few weeks ago I ran out of my C/l i got from the VA.The brand had a R239 id mark.I guess it was made by Activis. The new brand is marked CL2 and supposedly made by Mylan. Now I been struggling with these myoclonic jerks for over two years. They have almost disappeared now .I can"t get them going through fine motor activity.I wanted to let you know if you heard from others. The only other thing I did was drop my .25 synthroid,I doubt it was the culprit as i had the jerks before.
  11. Hi Tom, Losing where I am on strange roads sounds familiar.I experienced it first a few years ago when I went hunting early.IT was a bit scary but it doesnt come up much more.Im always reminding my self of just paying attention of driving and no other thoughts allowed, lolIt seems to work well and I hardly get lost.I keep my radio volume down also.T intersections are also to watching out for and trying to be at a good angle when pulling out as youknow how stiff we can be turning our head to look. A few weeks ago I switched my c/l to another brand.Im getting alot fewer myoclonic jerks and better overall PD symptoms. The brand I was on was made by Actavis 25/100 it had a R539 id mark. The brand i'm taking now is Mylan Pharmaceuticals ,cL2,c/l 25/100 Its a wait and see as I have had remissions before. best john
  12. Hi Gender, Im glad the video helped. The person I visited had a lot of the symptoms .i couldn't connect much with him but the nurse said he was better in the morning. This disease is treated with different meds than PD.It seems they cant tolerate levodopa and instead use drugs like Aricept, rivastigmine and donepezil. Also any drug like benadryl or a antihistamine can be dangerous with them. is His wife i think would like to see this if she hasn't already. There are treatment on the horizon for this condition so simular but different than Parkinson.Must be hard to find a doctor who specializes with this condition. It certainly is so different,Gender you have my prayers for both of you. best john.
  13. Hardly anyone except a few close friends and family I know asks much how Im doing.I guess Im doing great wearing the Mask.LOL Thats one of Dr.Low's favorites ,when your in temper or symptoms ,wear the mask and don't show it. Don't get me wrong advanced is another world I havn't arrived yet still on the plane, Im always out there hoping I can be of some comfort for them. While cold today the sun is out there a warm up coming tomorrow Happy Sunday
  14. I like this doctors approach alot. His opinion of meds to a minimum makes sense.
  15. A little follow up on the driving video.I have found being aware of just what we are doing (concentration) eliminates a lot of worry over our performance behind the wheel. The deficits can be dealt with ,for how long we only know.
