  1. Weight Loss

I think you have hit the nail on the head as they say! I have gone from 217lbs down to 153lbs in the past 18 months, I find it a chore to eat. Nothing taste good and I have gone from being the cook to the maker of sandwiches. With that being said I think i am at a healthier weight now and it seems to holding at 153lbs. Richard
  2. PD Doubts

Welcome WW, This is a great place to learn and vent. I would recommend you read through a lot of the older threads even a few in caregivers forum there is really some good info in them. Grunt
  3. URSODIOL - A Potential New Drug for PD

What a bunch of crap. If you take this drug you can not only stop taking all your other PD drugs but, you will also be able to walk 1/2 a mile. I feel like I have been listening to a snake oil salesman. I find it hard to believe that you went from being DX with PD to finding your magic bullet cure all in what 18 months! Then you try and convince others to follow your led. Take this new drug for PD and you to can stop all your other drugs. I get tremors so bad at times my glass of milk turns to butter but I'd rather have butter then to take drug advice from someone on an open forum. I can't believe at 73 years old you would be as irresponsible as I believe you to be. People with PD (especially those newly DX) are looking for help and answers when they come to this web site the last thing they need is to find and read this thread and start questioning there Doctor before they even get thier meds adjusted. I think it's time to let this thread die. Just my opinion. Rick
  4. Another Newbie

When and where. I have two Great Danes so one leash in each hand and they can drag me really, really fast.
  5. Another Newbie

Not sure if it ever stops but you kind of get use to it.
  6. Another Newbie

As long as you walk slow and drag a foot then grab your cane and I will race you. Just kidding. Sorry you had to search us out but glad you found us twitchy we need some new people as it's been getting slow around here.
  7. Does sinemet 25/100 help right away

Gulfvet,Gulf vet, Somali, and OEF vet here. The VA has a great clinic for PD. The clinic is in Houston and services all vets in Texas as well as four other states. The clinic is called the PADDREC and all they do is PD. I just had my first appointment with them last month and was very pleased. You will need a interfacility referral from your VA PC or neuro. They will make your arrangements hotel revs and provide trans to the hospital, it's a two day appointment. They are really a great group of Doctors and will track you and your progress. You can read up on the clinic on the VA website. If you have any questions fill free to e-mail me. Grunt
  8. Seizures

Here is the post I was thinking of earlier. Excessive sweating from July 4th 2015. The post refers to autonomic dysfunction and really has some good post in it from New Normal. I hope this helps out. Grunt (General recruit usually not trainable) long live the infantry...
  9. Seizures

Cenepk10, I have suffered from seizures for the past 8 years. It was one of the first symptoms of PD that I had. The seizures are caused by low blood pressure. I have mine mainly during sleep and yes it is a symptom of PD if you research low blood pressure and PD it's right there in black and white. I finally printed it all out and highlighted it then handed it to my Dr. We had a conversation about this a few months ago on the forum, I will look it up and let you know what the post title is.
  10. Vivid dream

  11. Social security/Medicare & power of attorney

  12. Vivid dream

Luckily I don't suffer from PTSD but I still dream of it but not too the extent that I wake up in a sweat. But the other night was the first time I ever woke up actting out the dream.
  13. Vivid dream

Scared the hell out of me... I have some wicked dreams from 31/2 years in Afghanistan and such I don't need to be acting them out...
  14. Vivid dream

I woke myself up around 05:00 this morning when my fist hit the wall behind my bed. I have never had anything like this happen before I'm lucky that I did not hit my wife. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it meds or PD?
