    Rasagilene

It has been 7 years since I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, and, generally, I am able to deal with the symptoms well. I take 13 tablets of 100/25 Sinamet and 6 doses of Entacapone a day. I exercise almost daily, and have virtually no problems with dyskinesia and the like. A new neurologist I have just seen has suggested that I consider taking Rasagilene because it may slow down the progression of the disease. All the research I can find on the internet says this conclusion is suggested but not proven. My question : if you were me-would you try Rasagilene ? Thank you.
  2. I have been using regular Sinemet 100/25 for several years now, (currenty 1 and 1/2 tabs with Entacapone every 3 hours) Lately I have been having tremors wake me up at 2 AM, and then have had trouble getting back to sleep. My doctor has prescribed Sinemet CR 200/50 to take only at bedtime, with doses of the regular drug to continue through the day. Do you have any suggestions on this regimen ? Many thanks.

    Simvastatin

What is the best information on the use of Simvastatin to slow down the progression of Parkinson's in someone who has no other reason to use it ?
  4. I have been diagnosed for 3 years now and am taking levadopa and comtan 6 times a day at 3 hour intervals. Lately I have noticed my tremors are quite often absent at the end of a 3 hour cycle-but often start again within a few minutes of taking the drug. It seems like, lately, the drug is starting the tremors. Could this be ? What can be done about this ?
