The Music Store

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

Music has been hugely important to me over the past couple of years. It lifts me, keeps me moving and keeps me happy. I thought it'd be nice if we had a place to share music that means something to us, with others here.

So....if this works it will be a miracle.......

This song you may know. It is a big anthem here still. Some think it's a bit depressing, but I find it hugely uplifting.

What a cool idea, Music is also important in my life, along with watching dance, favorite show is "So You Think You Can Dance". A couple of movies I enjoy "August Rush" & "Song catcher" both with great music. Been watching for the last couple of weeks "Sing Off". So music & dance is a great therapy in my life. Bryan

Hi Bryan...I love watching that show! And Tonya, my love, I will check out your songs when I get back because I have to go and get ready in a minute. I'm sure they will be as lovely as you are.

Peter.....Y E S !!!!!!!!!!

Great song, I haven't heard it for a while. It's a perfect song for a NPF gruop christmas party I feel.....We should pick a time..the dance is pretty simple. Wouldn#t that just be so cool....everyone dancing at the same time!

You all make my day, week, month and year you know (everyone I know here). When i'm having a crisis, you sort my head out. I know I often talk cr*p, talk too much or just, well, talk, but, ......i'm not going to go on.

So Happy Thursday to all you shiny happy people!

gotta go.

There are so many nice old classics in Rodgers and Hammersteins' "Oklahoma".

And if you're not done with your Christmas shopping and need a unique gift, click link two. There aren't many of these rigs to be found ...anyplace. This one a "barn find" from the Catskill Mountains.

My prediction is this will become a nice little thread. Thanks for starting it Gazelle.

For Kathrynne Holden.

Kathrynne, my mum also likes Opera, and I have spent many an evening in the past with my hands over my ears! I think as I get a bit older though, I like it a bit more. This is one that makes my mum smile. I hope it makes you smile too:

kind regards

Sue

Hi all,

I know I am meant to be being quiet, so I am on tiptoes. I couldn't resisit posting this for Tonya....I read about your 'loopy' dance. So crank this up girl, and go real loopy......i'll be right there with you!! Sorry it cuts off at the end, but the other videos looked a bit suspect, so i'm playing it safe...

Peter, loved the rendition of GBU....very clever

Roger, is there an old romantic inside that austere exterior??

best to you all

Gx

My favorite Pop Rock band of the 80's. Sure brings back memories....

Steve Perry was just as good in Live Concert as he was in the recording studio.

Aw, thank you Sue! As soon as my head quits spinning, I'll try out my loopy dance with this song. I'll close my eyes and sway to the beat.

You've got the magic in you, Gazzie Sue!

People love you, so I know it's true!

Please come back soon, or I'll be blue,

Don't make me have to beg and plead to you!

Gazzie Sue, Gazzie Sue!

Hey...TEX! What is that saying about chrysalyses and butterflies? You are turning into a full blown rock chick in front of our eyes!

The first song, Don't stop believing, is very special to me. I think of my elder son whenever I hear it. His usual tastes in music are quite modern, club music etc. but ever since he has heard this tune he has loved it. If it ever comes on the radio, we hear the intro and look at each other. Then, we both know he will do it, he bursts into song for that first line 'Just a small town girl.....'

So thank you for sharing. And thank you for the poem, though as you can see, my self enforced absence is not being very well enforced!

love ya

Hey Gaz,

Glad you're back! I would like to believe my little poem brought you back to us at 100%. But, I think JB's heart-tugging story did the job. Okay, maybe I need to take a writing class. Though, even if I did, I wouldn't be able to hold a candle to his talents. He's the man!!

I think you're thinking of the word "metamorphisis" with the butterfly thing. Actually, I've always been a little bit country and a little bit rock-n-roll. I'm a girl of variety!

Here's another great one from Journey:

Ah ha, Bryan! So, you used to watch Donnie and Marie, too. Or, atleast you saw it once. Actually, I'm more country than rock-n-roll. But, I like a lot of different types of music.

I'm glad you keep visiting and are joining in on the "fun". Beware, I will probably disappoint you one of these days by saying something stupid. The good thing about being here is the fact that these wonderful people still like you, even if you mess up or say something stupid from time to time(like me). Would you expect anything less from a middle-aged woman?

Beware, you might get hooked and won't ever be able to leave. And, that's a good thing!

Thanks for the song!

Texas T, Well I have I heard that song a few times and many more Osmond songs, My wife worked at the Osmond Family theater in Branson for 2 years. I used to hear Osmond songs in my head. I don't see myself getting upset around here, it is good to communicate with people that understand what is going on. Music I can listen to about anything, even some country, but it has to have some Roots & folk Mixed in with a little Bluegrass. Alison Krause is one of my favorite, Than one you might appreciate Tonya "Asleep At The Wheel" Western Swing anyone. But James Taylor & Carole King are my favorite, so here is a song for all of my new friends.

(I have a best friend, so this song reminds me of her when I hear it) I hope everyone has that special friend that helps them through hard times & happy times.

I do like western swing, Bryan and Alison Krause. What an awesome job your wife had in Branson! I hope to visit there some day.

Thanks for sharing the "you've got a friend" song. Let us not forget to let those who support us know how much they mean to us.

Here's a song dedicated to all of you living with Parkinson's and the dedicated CAREGIVERS who sacrifice everyday to care for us. I've sung this song over the last 25 years to myself; only because I remembered it from singing it with my high school choir at graduation. And now I know why I've always carried it with me.

And now folks.....the one and only, George Thorogood and the Destroyers!

I presume you are somewhat of a rebel, Peter. I guess it does take a little rebellion to deal with this disease, doesn't it?

b-b-b-b-b-b-bye!
