Article on Social Security Disabilty

Very detailed article in this morning's Arizona Repubic on the challenges faced by people applying for Social Secuirty Disability. While the article is not specific to PD and focuses on applicants from Arizona, I think there are probably a lot of similarities for PD patients in all states. One of the most interesting facts, to me, in the article was the variation of outcomes between different Administrative Law Judges. Comparing "approval rates of administratvie-law judges in the two longtime Phoenix offices range from as low as 46 percent to as high as 96 percent". One of my husband's doctors called SSD applications a "crap shoot" with no way to predict who might be approved and who would be turned down, I think these differences in approval rates shows he was right.
