Back pain

2 posts in this topic

My husband 76 years old has a PD with lots of back pain. His back pain is coming from spinal stenosis as well as from stooped posture. For stooped posture in the past he received botox injections. They did not help.

Right now he sees physiotherapist. The physiotherapist suggested pain clinic where my husband could get injection into the spine for pain.

From your experience is this being done? Thank you.

Emily

For excruciating pain an injection can help, but is only short term and I never recommend long term injections. One every once in a while is ok. A better solution is to optimize sine met (sometimes people's back pain improves with a higher dose), see the physical therapist, get an exercise plan, and then have a really reputable back surgeon explain the chances of an operation actually making the pain better. The posture is tough to treat.
