Timing of meds (Sinemet and Mirapex)

Recommended Posts

I am currently taking Sinemet 25/250 3 times a day, and Mirapex .5 mg 3 times a day. Is there any advantage or disadvantage to taking them together, versus taking them an hour or so apart? I had been taking them together at 3:00 AM, 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, but now I am taking the Sinemet on that schedule and the Mirapex at 4:00, 10:00 and 4:00. I'm curious if it matters.

Thanks in advance.

The advantage of taking the sinemet am hour before the Mirapex, is that the Sinemet is stopping any "off" periods you may be experiencing.

My medication is exactly like that. My one medication (which is sinemet CR, where yours os Mirapex), was only lasting until 2pm instead of 3pm. So, instead of changing my whole sleep schedule, we just added sinemet 25/100 at 2pm, and that took care of the CR wearing off. So now I just take a 25/100 tab 1 hour before my CR (in your case, Mirapex), and it was all fixed.

Hope that helped, keep me posted.
