I have finally been approved for Service Connected Disability for Parkinson's Disease due to environmental exposures of TCE and PCE.  Three years to the day since I filed my original claim. Rated with retroactive benefits, Rated @ 100% permanent and total, for the past year, and @ 30% for the previous two years. I will have to file for an increased initial rating, which is estimated to take three to four months to get approved.

Here is a link to the research used to rationalize the Camp Lejeune Presumptive Service Connection Disability for Parkinson's Disease due to TCE and PCE

So happy for you getting your disability. Took long enough. My status is still "Gathering Evidence". I have expectations something will happen within next 3 months. Being hopeful.

My experience was not a lack of willingness to diagnose at the VA but a lack of experienced neurologist. Fortunately I moved and ended up going to the Dallas Texas VAMC, they have a team of exceptional neurologist to include a well known MDS.

On my first visit to Dallas I was scheduled for an emg by the ALS clinic. The test was performed two weeks later. At the conclusion of the test the neuromuscular specialist said she was pleasantly surprised. But that left another problem of no diagnosis. She left the exam room for a few minutes and returned with three other neurologists, they spent a hour in the room with me. I was sent home with a year supply of c/l.

Four weeks later I returned to the MDS who confirmed my diagnosis within the first ten minutes without any hesitation.

Gulfvet, how did you go about getting an appointment with the VA in Dallas?  Thanks.
