waruna01 57 Report post Posted May 2, 2016 How do you store probiotic foods after fermenting them at home such as sauerkraut? Do you keep them in the fridge after few weeks of fermenting? Does the good bacteria die off once you store sauerkraut in the fridge?
kholden 707 Report post Posted May 3, 2016 Sauerkraut needs to be stored in the fridge unless you have a cool place such as a root cellar, that stays at around 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Vinegar, however, can be stored on the shelf. Sourdough starter needs a cool place, such as the refrigerator. Kefir and yogurt likewise need refrigeration.
