Environment and Parkinson's

Recommended Posts

Hello Dr. Okun,

My childhood home was located approximately 500' amongst Paper Mills with open run off canals and collection pits for the waste from them.

Being Idiopathic Parkinson's can this be part of the reasoning behind it? Back in the 60 and 70's there were no laws in place yet for stack brushes and filters.

Also being one family member out of 6, why would I be open to the effects of environmental issues and not the others? Am I the weakest link? What does "predisposed" actually mean relating to Parkinson's?

Thank you for any insight you may have on my questions.
