Mirapex Is Working!

2 posts in this topic

I'm mid-stage step up on Mirapex. I'm taking it twice a day, and will be moving up to three in a couple of days. I'm noticing a lot less tremors except when I'm just too tired or anxious. What I'd really like to know is, if the Mirapex is working does that definitely mean Parkinson's?

I see my neurologist later this week. She specializes in tremors. I trust her judgement. I guess I'd just like some input before I meet with her to discuss, plus I'd just like to know the answer in general. I've looked everywhere and cannot find this info.

Thanks!

Cole

A positive response to levodopa or an agonist (in your case Mirapex) is supportive but not definitive of a diagnosis of Parkinson.  You should be followed over time by your doctor to confirm the diagnosis.
