Has anyone tried any natural remedies for sleeping difficulties?  I have been reading about natural oils and it sounds quite interesting.

HI Noah,

I use Valerian Root, Chamomile and I have tried Lavender essential oil.  I have the best results with Valerian Root. I also sometimes use; Calm PRT, from Neuroscience- contains; Rhodiola Rosea root extract, phosphatidylserine enriched soy lecithin, glycine & taurine . You need to get this from a Physician. My naturopath orders it for me. A bit expensive, but it helps. Also, another natural powder that I have taken is; Inositol, made from rice. I get this thru Biotics or Wellevate- a reputable supplement co. my naturopath uses. You can buy inositol at health food stores, I've seen it in pill form. I have not tried the pill form, just the powder.

How much valerian root do you use. I have been using natures answer super concentrated (. I just ordered it from Amazon. )

after using it for a while I realized it was concentrated .  I have been taking. .5 ml

i have a friend that thinks essential oils would be helpful. Especially lavender. Have you ever tried these oils.?

I have a doctors apt Tuesday and I am going to ask about them. I also have found an RN who doesn't live to far from me that consults in using oils for PD. I went to see a sleep doctor and he referred me to a insomnia specialist. I am seeing her Tuesday as well. So I will be getting lots of info on Tuesday

I help an instructor with a PD exercise program. One of our clients has restless leg syndrome so I found this for him. I don't have RLS but figured I would give it a try. I have been doing #8 & #9 with yoga music on a timer in bed. It has worked for me.

Organic yogurt helps, as do a few sips of 99 Peaches, cut with a little whole milk.  :-)  I also take in a deep breath through my nose for 7 seconds, hold my breath for 7 more, and release my breath slowly through my mouth to the count of 7.  Repeat.  Works really well, I find.  Also every night take 0.5 mgs Xanax and 10 mgs melatonin (Nature's Bounty works well)..
