Curcuma and Coconut Oil in Parkinsons

Recommended Posts

Dear Doctor,

There is some discussion in social media about the benefits  of taking Coconut OIl and Turmeric (Curcuma ) regularly. It is argued that these two substances help in the fight against brain diseases like Parkinson. There may not be any scientific proof yet, but is it possible to say that these arguments basis and if yes what can be the recommended daily intake for them.

Thanks.

We have not yet seen the evidence to support the claims, though the safety profile seems good.  I have not been recommending this approach with my patients so I could not advise on dose.  I will post for you.

I've read, altho I don't have the link handy, that Curcumin may prolong the QT interval.  What's your opinion?
