Sinment

Recommended Posts

My husband is on Sinment 25/100 3 times a day now for 90 days. Diagnosed with parkinsons. Has had no improvement, how long does it take to help.

He took a Dat Scan 2 or 3 years ago and it was negative. Why now parkinsons diagnosis. Extreme tremors on right side when at rest or moving. Slightly less tremors on rest of body. No tremors when asleep. Also has memory problems, takes 28mg namenda xr and Azilect. Was seeing a neurologist til this year because we recently moved. Primary care doc diagnosed PD 4 months ago and put him on Sinment.

Has had progressively worse tremors since 50 years old, is now 82.

Any suggestions.

Thanks,

Trisha

Trisha,

The Sinemet 25/100 is actually a medication that if you do not see improvement within 3 days it can be increased. The dose that he is taking is usually a good starting dose, but I am surprised that the Dr. did not give you instructions to call him if you see no improvement after being on the initial dose.

I would definitely call the Dr. and let them know you have seen no improvement and would like to be instructed on what to do at this point.

I hope this helps and please keep me posted.
